Our History
Who We Are
Jasper Rubber is a well-respected Jasper, Indiana, rubber manufacturer founded in 1949. We’re proud to share a name with our Hoosier hometown, a place we’ve remained and supported nearly 80 years later—it’s our home of history, innovation, dedication, and hard work.
Throughout the decades, we continue to build our reputation as a reliable manufacturer of high-quality rubber, plastic, and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) components. What started as a locally owned company in a small town in Southern Indiana has grown into a recognized resource of expertise and dependable products with a customer base extending throughout North America and beyond.

How We Started
Looking for a way to invest in their growing hometown, a group of local investors desired a company that would produce rubber products specifically for the plumbing industry. It’s this abundance of community support that continues to play an integral role in our company’s success to this day.
Once established in 1949, Jasper Rubber soon began manufacturing molded and extruded products. Ingenuity began from day one—our company’s first plant functioned out of a converted skating rink!
Led early on by fellow Midwesterner and experienced rubber manufacturing aficionado Albert Place, our business quickly grew and eagerly welcomed an enthusiastic workforce. Folks searching for opportunities in a post-war American economy found it at Jasper Rubber.
How We Continued
Soon, production expanded. We quickly became a reliable supplier of high-quality rubber plumbing products and strategically followed industry growth habits by adapting our processes, materials development, and needs of our increasing customer base.
We added new production lines in 1961 to include automated lathe cutting. In 1970, we added injection molding, and in 1999, we expanded into liquid injection molding. In between that, we made a significant addition to our materials production in 1987 by incorporating plastics and TPE product lines.
Today, with our laboratory facilities and custom compounding expertise, our top-quality product and customer satisfaction standards continue.

Where We Call Home
With our growing customer base, product offerings, and manufacturing capabilities, we soon reached facility capacity. Expansions to our original building and purchases of adjacent properties yielded initial improvements, but because highways bound that property, opportunities for acquiring additional space eventually became exhausted.
Jasper Rubber’s first big move happened in 1977, when we relocated our plant and office space to a 100,000-square-foot facility just a quarter mile away from the original plant. We later expanded this location to an impressive 198,100 square feet and acquired an additional 40,200-square-foot location to house our TPE facility.
In 1997, we obtained another 25,590-square-foot building to accommodate our continued growth in production and office space needs. We added another 8,900-square-foot building for office space the following year, and in 1999, we completed a 35,200-square-foot expansion to relocate our grinding department.
And through all this change, we consistently manage growth and positivity in the best direction. As of July 2026, ownership of Jasper Rubber transferred to Press-Seal Corporation, an industry-leading, family-owned-and-operated rubber gasket and connector manufacturer in Fort Wayne, Indiana, that holds a strikingly similar company backstory to us. Now, we have a new and exciting path forward together.

Our Future
In addition to our new Press-Seal ownership, Jasper Rubber is proud of our continued commitment to excellence in serving our customers. We pride ourselves on being ahead of the curve in the latest production and processing technology, and our certifications back us as a reliable manufacturer you can continue to trust.
